Looking for a story?
You’ve come to the right place!
How To Get The Most From
The Story Request Area.
1. Use your Title!
Making a title that gives a summary of what you’re looking for will help people give you suggestions that fit your request. If your title says “I’m looking for a story” that’s way too general. But say “I’m looking for a Dark Fantasy story” and you’ll get people who know or write dark fantasy looking at your request.
2. Put all the languages you want to read in.
If you only want English , let people know up front, so they don’t waste time sending you something in Spanish, French or Greek. But if you want to read in Spanish, French or Greek, note that, too.
3. Specify a length / story size.
That way, if you want Short Stories or Flash Fiction, you don’t get novels, and vice versa.
4. Don’t be afraid to be specific about what you want.
Tell people what you want. If you want Romance, tell them. Heterosexual Romance? LGBTQ+ Romance? Adventure Romance? Fantasy Romance? Historical Romance? Elves, wizards and unicorns? Add the things you want to read.
5. Use other stories as examples.
If you want stories similar to Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Pride and Prejudice or Wind in the Willows, put that in there. If you don’t want BTS or Undertale Fanfiction or something similar to Divergent, note that, too.
6. Do not put up a general promote your story thread.
There is already a section of the clubs for people to share their story. This space is where you can get detailed about what you are looking for. Any general “POST YOUR STORY HERE!” threads will be closed. There must be some specific request made and the intention to read the stories suggested.
7. Do not post a link to your story or ask people to read it.
You can post read for read deals in the other share your story threads. If you use your thread to promote your own story, it will be closed.
When Answering a Request:
1. Give the Title / author / synopsis
Give the requester the Title of the story, who wrote it and the reason why you think this particular story fills their request.
2. Don’t forget the LINK!
This is the most important thing. If you don’t include a link, it’s likely the requester won’t bother to try to look the story up.
3.All links are acceptable.
Post your Wattpad story, your friend’s Wattpad story or one you’ve read and enjoyed. If requested, published novels are also allowed, as long as it’s not your own book.
4. Don’t spam / post inappropriate stories / links.
Posting stories that don’t fit requests or posting multiple links will be considered spam. Posting links to anything other than Wattpad stories is not allowed.
5. Don’t ask for votes.
Demanding or offering votes is considered vote trading and not allowed on Wattpad.
