Beta Reader Guidelines

#1

This club is for authors who need beta readers for their completed stories.

Beta readers are not explicitly proofreaders or editors, but can serve in that context. Elements highlighted by beta readers encompass things such as plot holes, problems with continuity, characterisation or believability; in fiction and non-fiction, the beta might also assist the author with fact-checking. A BETA reader will read the entire story.

If you would like to offer beta reading services

You can advertise in the Critiques and feedback group or browse the authors and offer your services.

Rules:

  • If you would like to advertise for beta readers, simply create a discussion and please include the following:

    • Title
    • Genre and sub-genres
    • Description
    • Any other information you feel is needed
  • Please specify if you are offering a payment. Examples of what you can offer are comments/feedback, follows, shout outs, attribution, reading list adds, and graphics/stickers. Votes are not allowed as “payments” so please do not mention votes/stars/likes in your advertisement.

  • If you have filled up your spots, please edit your title to say closed so people don’t continue to contact you.

  • If you’d like to have your thread permanently closed, please tag a community ambassador. You can find an up to date list or our community ambassadors here. Any threads that are inactive for over 30 days will be removed by the moderators.

Good luck!
