Starting the last year of this. I’ve done these so quickly it’s astonishing, I’ve literally written 63 thousand words with these. And this is the last. cries

It’s been a long, anxiety-ridden summer for you. Now that war is officially upon the Wizarding World, you have been preparing as much as you can for the hunt for Horcruxes that’s waiting for you. But tonight, it’s time to bring Harry to the Burrow. Write 700 words as you take Polyjuice Potion and disguise yourself as Harry.

I got distracted so I wrote 838 words in 27 minutes and 18 seconds.

You mount a Thestral, along with Charlie Weasley. As you take off to head towards a safe house, however, you’re immediately ambushed by Death Eaters! Write for thirty minutes as you ward off your attackers. If you are in Gryffindor, you are a valiant fighter and may skip this round for free.

608 words.

After mourning Mad-Eye Moody’s death during the flight to the Burrow and celebrating Harry’s seventeenth birthday, Fleur and Bill’s wedding arrives. During the festivities, however, Kingsley Shacklebolt’s Patronus arrives and warns you that the Ministry has fallen. It’s time for you to leave the safety of the Burrow. Write 500 words as you flee the wedding with Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

501 words.

You take refuge in 12 Grimmauld Place, which is under protection of the Fidelius Charm. There, Kreacher tells you about how the owner of the locket was Regulus Black, and he forces Mundungus Fletcher to tell you where the original locket is. The answer? Around Dolores Umbridge’s neck at the Ministry. Write for twenty minutes as you plan how you will infiltrate the Ministry. If you are in Slytherin, you know Umbridge better than the others and know the perfect way to get the locket. You may skip this round for free.

519 words.

You and your friends spend a month spying on the Ministry before you use Polyjuice Potion to disguise yourselves as employees and sneak in so you can find the locket. Write for forty-five minutes as you locate the Horcrux, steal it from Umbridge, and run from Ministry officials who are trying to capture you. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to skip this round even if you have enough Galleons to do so.

No skipping… dammit…

1,294 words.

Yaxley grabbed a hold of Hermione’s arm when you Apparated to 12 Grimmauld Place, revealing the house to the Death Eaters. You instead Apparate to a thickly wooded forest, but you have no time to rest because Ron is splinched! Write 600 words as you heal his arm and set up camp.

671 words in 20 minutes.

All efforts to destroy the Horcrux are hopeless, but Hermione realises that you can use the sword of Gryffindor to destroy the Horcruxes because it is infused with basilisk venom from the time Harry stabbed the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. However, Ron becomes discouraged, thinking that your quest is hopeless, and he suspects that Harry and Hermione have feelings for each other. He leaves angrily, and you participate in the Three Digit Challenge as you mourn his absence.

The person above me when I did this is @JaxMayflower and he has 2,017 words, so I’m gonna write 17 words.

38 words in 1 minute and 9 seconds.

Harry wants to visit Godric’s Hollow to visit his parents’ graves as well as to look for the sword of Gryffindor. When you are approached by Bathilda Bagshot, you go with her to her home without asking any questions. The house is very decrepit, though, and you don’t hear Bathilda speak at all. It is revealed that she is actually Nagini, planted in Godric’s Hollow in order to attack Harry. Write 500 words as you fight off Nagini.

So I went way over. 660 words in 23 minutes and 47 seconds.

Your situation reaches a new low when Harry breaks his wand and you have no idea where to start in order to look for the other Horcruxes. During Harry’s watch in the middle of the night, you and Hermione are woken up by the sounds of Ron’s return. He holds the broken locket in one hand and the sword of Gryffindor in the other. You are quick to forgive him, but Hermione is still angry that he left. Write for thirty minutes as they argue, a sound you never thought you would miss.

738 words.

Gonna finish here coz I wanna update. Words for this part is 5,867.

#854

25 minutes left and I want 600 words in that time.
1063

Gonna do this tomorrow.

#855

That’s 78 words a minute at the least to hit it. And I’m going to aim for at least 2k.

1364 with 18 minutes left.

#856

Look who’s back, back again, Cameron’s back, tell a friend!

Hermione wants to go visit Xenophilius Lovegood and learn about the symbol that she’s seen many times since you began your journey. He tells you about the Deathly Hallows, but he doesn’t leave without revealing that Luna has been captured by Death Eaters and summoning them to capture Harry as well. Write 3% of your word count as you escape as the Lovegood’s house crumbles. If you are in Ravenclaw, you’ve visited Luna’s home before and know the quickest way out. You may skip this round for free.

I’m gonna use a Galleon to skip this because I can’t be bothered doing it. Now I have 28 Galleons.

Ron manages to tune into Potterwatch, a radio station that reports news as it actually happens and supports Harry in his efforts to defeat You-Know-Who. After listening, Harry accidentally says the name Voldemort, breaking a Taboo placed on his name and causing Snatchers to find you. Write 1000 words in twenty minutes.

If you succeed: You don’t outrun the Snatchers, but you manage to pickpocket them and find 2 Galleons.

If you fail: You’re captured by the Snatchers and taken to Malfoy Manor.

I only wrote 547 words, so that’s a fail. I’m taken to Malfoy Manor.

In the cellar of the Manor, you find Ollivander, Griphook, and Luna, as well as Dobby, who helps you to escape. He drops a chandelier onto Bellatrix Lestrange and Apparates all of you away from the Manor, but not before Bellatrix throws a knife that fatally stabs him in the stomach. He dies as you appear near Shell Cottage. Write for fifteen minutes as you mourn Dobby, a free elf. If you are in Hufflepuff, you help Harry dig the grave for Dobby and may skip this round for free.

453 words.

The next step in your hunt for Horcruxes is to break into Bellatrix Lestrange’s vault at Gringotts and look for another Horcrux: Helga Hufflepuff’s cup. You and the group talk to Griphook the goblin and ask him for help in breaking into the bank, and he accepts, but only if you give him the sword of Gryffindor in return. Roll a die, multiply your roll by 200, and write that many words as you plan the break in.

NaNo starts tomorrow so I’m gonna finish this right now. I wrote 1000 words.

IT’S NANOWRIMO!!! AS ITS THE FIRST DAY IM GONNA DO A “FIRST DAY OF NANOWRIMO CRAWL” HERE IT IS

The First Day of NaNoWriMo Crawl

It’s October 31st! November is still some hours away for you, but you already see shoutouts popping up by people who have already started! Do a 10 minute word war as you attempt to shake of the jealousy.

As your local time slowly approaches midnight, you are in your regional chat. You’re talking with your region mates about how excited you all are! Do a 20 minute word war as you let out your excitement a bit.

In the last hour before midnight, you are of course awake and eagerly waiting until you can finally start writing! How prepared are you to start, anyway?

If you’re a planner, you’re very well prepared. Write 200 words as you get out your outlines and character profiles in order to start!
If you’re a plantser, you have something prepared. Write 300 words as you get out everything you have prepared.
If you’re a pantser, you may not have anything prepared at all. Write 600 words as you get yourself a drink, a snack, and try to think of something to start with!

It is 10 minutes to midnight! You and your chat mates are still extremely excited, of course. But now, some of you are starting to feel anxious. What if you haven’t prepared enough? What if you’re too busy? What if you can’t do this? Do a fifty headed hydra to kick Doubt in the face!

OMG, IT’S MIDNIGHT! Quick, WRITE ALL THE WORDS! Write 1667 words before bed!

Satisfied with the night’s work, you prepare for bed. Write 100 words as you get yourself into bed and go to sleep.

After you’ve woken up and done other things for the day, you have more time to write! Do a #1k30minutes challenge to get yourself going again!

Later in the day, you notice that @NaNoWordSprints are sprinting on Twitter! Join them! (ACTUALLY literally join @NaNoWordSprints for an hour. If you don’t have Twitter or you don’t want to join/the account isn’t sprinting, do an Epic Music Hour instead!)

Oh my, how did it get to almost midnight? You set a goal for yourself, and you may have to scramble to hit it! Try to write 1000 words in 20 minutes in order to make the best of your first day of NaNo!

#858

I’m gonna do a Greek Mythos themed word crawl since I’m doing this before work and I’ve kinda started this late - and I owe replies on some forums lol The project I chose for Nano was already a bit in, and I just decided to open a new document to better see the word count/have a better grasp of how much I’ve written.

So word count is: 0.

The Iliad Challenge

  • Eris causes trouble with a golden apple. Write 100 words while everyone gossips about who “For The Fairest” means

WC: 103 ; T: 2:20

  • Paris is trying to choose which goddess most deserves the Golden Apple. Convince him by writing for 10 minutes. If you don’t manage at least 300 words, you’ll have to bribe him with another 150.

WC: 380 ; T: 10:00 ; TWC: 483 - this puts me at almost .5k and the goal for the day is at least 2.5k!

  • Paris meets Helen, and they run away together to Troy. Sprint for 10 minutes while you flee Menelaus!

WC: 415 ; T: 10:00 ; TWC: 896

So at this point, I also went back and added some of the old stuff from the first document. It’s about 200 words extra, but I’m not counting it in for the word count of the day.

  • Menelaus gathers an army – convince them to fight on your side by writing 250 words as fast as you can.

WC: ; T: ; TWC:

  • The Greeks lay siege for 10 long years, so sprint for 10 minutes while the war drags on.

WC: ; T: 10:00; TWC:

  • Inside the wall, Cassandra warns Troy of imminent danger. Write 100 words while everyone ignores her prophecies.

WC: ; T: ; TWC:

  • Paris shoots Achilles in the heel, and he dies. Take a break while Trojans celebrate and Greeks mourn.
  • Finally, the Greeks claim victory with their wooden horse. Write 500 words as quickly as possible to sneak inside the city and win the war!

WC: ; T: ; TWC:

Tomorrow I don’t have work or school so I think I’ll try the Harry Potter word crawl or one of the longer ones. Depending on how it goes, I might also try working on another project.

#859

Yayy! First day of NaNo!!! Imma steal your crawl

WC: 1378 T:46

OMG, IT’S MIDNIGHT! Quick, WRITE ALL THE WORDS! Write 1667 words before bed!

Oh, well that’s an annoying one cause like these crawls are supposed to cut it down into sections so Imma say bye bye to this crawl and try another.

Day 1- WC: 329 T: 10

Day 2- WC:1378 T: 46

Total: WC: 1707 T:56

#862

500 words in 5 min

#863

Oh,thanks! And that’s never gonna happen, but I’ll try xD

#864

I think Imma actually do the Harry Potter Crawl for NaNo. Here it is: (and a link https://nanowrimo.org/forums/word-wars-prompts-sprints/threads/443289)

You receive your Hogwarts letter by owl and are completely ecstatic to head out for your first year at Hogwarts. Sprint to 100 words to let out your excitement and energy.

Okie!

Oh, and I’m starting this crawl off with already 1378 words and 46 minutes done so I’ll add that for day two at the end

112 word in 2 minutes

WC: 112 T: 2 G:0

You arrive in Diagon Alley and your first stop is Gringotts, wizard bank. Write for ten minutes. The amount of words you write will determine how many Galleons are in your vault.

kk

385

WC: 497 T: 12 G: 3

Muggleborns:
Less than 100 words: 1 Galleon
100-200 words: 2 Galleons
More than 200 words: 3 Galleons
Halfbloods:
Less than 150 words: 1 Galleon
150-250 words: 2 Galleons
More than 250 words: 3 Galleons
Purebloods:
Less than 250 words: 1 Galleon
250-350 words: 2 Galleons
More than 350 words: 3 Galleons

Guess I’m a pu re blood and I get 3 Galleons!

You step into Ollivander’s wand shop. Roll a die and multiply your roll by 100. Sprint to that many words.

okieee!

300 words to try.

went a little over but got 378 in 11 minutes.

WC: 875 T:25 G:3

Finally, you’re done shopping! But before you leave, you decide that you want to purchase a pet. Write for 15 minutes as you search for the perfect animal for you.

Accidently went for twenty and got 529

WC: 1404 T: 45 G:3

After months of waiting, you’ve arrived on platform 9 ¾ and board the Hogwarts Express. Write to the nearest thousand as you settle into your seat and get ready for a long ride.
If you need to write more than 500 words for this challenge and choose not to skip this round, take one Galleon.

I have tio write 800 some so Imma skip

WC:1404 T:45 G:2

Anything off the trolley, dear? Buy some sweets to help get you through the ride! Depending on which candy you choose, pick a challenge from below.
Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans: Participate in a Fifty Headed Hydra as you frantically try to get the taste of vomit out of your mouth.
Chocolate Frog: Write for five minutes as you chase down the frog.
Licorice Wand : Sprint to 150 words.
Pumpkin Pasties : Roll a die and multiply by 50. Write that many words.

Choosing the last one. Rolled a 6. 300 words -_-

Ended up doing 659 in 20 minutes for some reason XD

WC: 2063 T: 65 G: 2

And to end the day off and keep track of my stuff:

Day 1- WC: 329 T: 10

Day 2-WC; 3541 T: 110

You arrive at the castle and wait in the hall with the rest of the first years. You notice a boy with messy black hair and glasses talking with a redheaded boy, a girl with bushy hair whispering to the people around her, and a boy with pale… well, everything. Write for ten minutes as you attempt to socialize with the people around you.

That usually takes a lot longer than ten minutes, but whatever you say, crawl.

Was a little short on time (6 minutes) but I got 165.

WC:165 T:6 G:2

Professor McGonagall escorts you and your peers into the Great Hall for the Sorting. After the Sorting Hat sings its song and several students walk up timidly, your name is called, and you sit yourself down on the stool, intimidated and worried about what is about to happen. McGonagall places the hat on your head, and you are sorted into your House. Pick from the four Houses- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.
You are not allowed to skip this round even if you have enough Galleons to do so.
Gryffindor: Are you brave enough to write ten times your typing speed in 10 minutes ?
Hufflepuff: Remain loyal to your word count and write steadily for 45 minutes with no breaks .
Ravenclaw : Calculate how many words it will take for you to write to the nearest 1000 .
Slytherin : You’re an ambitious one, aren’t you? Write 750 words in 30 minutes !

Wooow for Slytherin. I can do 750 in 30

536 in 20

298 in 10 so in total 824 in 30 minutes

WC:999 T:36 G:2

The feast is delicious! Do the Three Digit Challenge as you eat at your House table and talk with those around you, as well as your House ghost.
I f you are in Hufflepuff, you know your chambers are near the kitchen so you save room for later and may skip this round for free.

Well, the person above me who isn’t me is @ShinomiyaDR so I have to write 236 words.

270 in 9 minutes

WC: 1269 T: 45 G:2*

You’ve settled into your dormitory quite quickly and nicely, and your first couple weeks of class go well. Write for an hour as you grow accustomed to your new classes and all of the magic you’re learning.
Muggleborns : If you write 750 words within the hour, take 2 Galleons.
Halfbloods : If you write 1,000 words within the hour, take 2 Galleons.
Purebloods : If you write 1,250 words within the hour, take 2 Galleons.

Hahhaha, why do you hate me so?
15:: 502
15:449
(Darn it, was hoping for 1k in half an hour, but I’m a bit rusty today)
15: 504
5:225
10: 373

So I got 2,053 in an hour and earned 2 galleons

Gonna finish this later, but here’s what I got thus far:

WC: 3322 T: 90 G:4

On your way to Potions, the messy haired boy who you now know is Harry Potter stops and asks you if you know where Professor Binns’ classroom is. Write 200 words in 10 minutes as you try to remember where his classroom is.
If you succeed: Harry hurries to Binns’ classroom and gives you a Galleon as a thank you for your help.
If you fail: You spend so much time trying to help Harry that you are both late to your next class. Write another 200 words as you apologize to Snape and try not to lose any points for your House.
If you are in Slytherin, Snape likes you and lets you skip this round for free even if you show up late to his class.

I’m a slytherin so I get to skip! Kinda annoying though because that would’ve been an easy galleon to earn.

WC: 3322 T: 90 G:4

You get locked out of your common room and Mrs. Norris finds you! You run with Harry, Ron, and Hermione to the third door corridor, and you find a giant three-headed dog! After making it back to your dormitory safely, roll a die, multiply your roll by 100, and write that many words as you try to calm down and understand why it’s in the castle.

k, I rolled a . . .3. 300 words (should take maybe 10 minutes)

371 in 10

WC: 3,693 T: 100 G:4

Troll! In the dungeon! You go with Harry and Ron to find Hermione and end up fighting the troll with them. Sprint to 250 words , and try not to get yourself killed.
If you are in Gryffindor, you fight the troll bravely and may skip this round for free.

Did 298 in 10

WC: 3991 T:110 G:4

You go down to Hagrid’s hut to have tea with him. When you try his treacle fudge, your teeth get stuck together. Write for fifteen minutes as Hagrid tries to help and Madam Pomfrey magically loosens the cement-like effect the fudge had on your mouth.

497

WC: 4,488 T: 124 G: 4

Months pass, and it’s Christmas morning! You receive 3 Galleons from your parents, as well as a challenge from the Weasley twins. Write 1000 words in under an hour .

20: 718
10:371

So 1,089 in 30 minutes, challenge beaten and surpassed

WC:5,577 T:154 G:4

If you succeed : they give you a Galleon.
If you fail : they hit you with snowballs until you’re buried under heavy amounts of snow and make you write 250 more words.

Wooow galleon

WC:5,577 T:154 G:5

During the Gryffindor vs Slytherin Quidditch game, you get incredibly excited. Roll a die. If even, you’re cheering for Gryffindor; if odd, you’re cheering for Slytherin. Word war for fifteen minutes with someone cheering for the opposite team . If you beat them, you win your bet, and you take 2 of their Galleons. But be careful- if you lose, you give them 2 of your Galleons. A bet’s a bet.

no one’s doing this crawl on here, so I’ll just do regular war went for 20 and got 608

WC: 6185 T: 174 G:5

Done for the day!

So updates:
Day 1- WC: 329 T: 10

Day 2-WC; 3541 T: 110

Day 3-WC:6185 T:174

Harry tells you that he suspects that Snape is going after the Philosopher’s Stone and you decide to go with the trio to try to get to the Stone before Snape does. But before you can even go down the trapdoor, you need to make it past Fluffy. Write for ten minutes as you lull him to sleep sneak through the door.

10: 297

WC: 207 T: 10 G:5

If you are in Ravenclaw, you know exactly how to keep Fluffy asleep and may skip this round for free.

Oh no- you and your friends are trapped in a patch of Devil’s Snare! Hermione tells you that you need to write 300 words in five minutes in order to safely escape.

Ha, no. In 5 minutes, I got 203 which isn’t bad

WC:410 T:15 G:5

If you succeed: You make it out of the deadly plant without a scratch and even spot a Galleon on the ground. What luck!
If you fail: Hermione has to set the plant on fire to get you out alive. She thinks very poorly of your skills now, so write another 300 words to impress her.

331 in 10

WC:741 T:25 G:5

Harry catches a flying key and opens a large wooden door. Inside the next room is a giant wizard chess set. You and your friends need to replace some of the pieces and play the game. Ron takes the place of a knight, Harry becomes a bishop, and Hermione takes over for a rook. Pick a chess piece and complete the challenge below.
You are not allowed to skip this round even if you have enough Galleons to do so.
Pawn: You know you won’t be of much use to the game and think it would be wisest to be taken out early. Complete a Fifty Headed Hydra and take a fifteen minute writing break to recover from your injuries.
Rook: You take the place of the other rook and spend the game running across the board, strategically taking out important pieces of the other side’s team. Sprint to 200 and take a five minute writing break once the game is won.
Bishop: You take the place of the other bishop and sneakily take out pawns on the other team. Write for 20 minutes and take a five minute writing break once the game is won.
Knight : You take the place of the other knight and become the wild card of the match. Write 300 words in 15 minutes until you’re taken out by one of the other team’s rooks. Take a fifteen minute writing break to recover from your injuries.

I’m doing Sprint to 200

Got 260 in 10

WC:1,001 T:35 G:5

Harry and Hermione move ahead into the next room when you stay with Ron. When Hermione comes back, sprint to 500 words as you run to find Dumbledore and explain the situation to him.

10:366
5:181

547 in 15 minutes.

WC: 1,548 T:50 G:5

The word gets out that Professor Quirrell is the one who wanted the stone, not Snape! Rumors also spread of your bravery in helping Harry, Ron, and Hermione as you four went through the challenges the professors set to protect the stone. Dumbledore awards you fifty points for your courage. Write for five minutes as your peers congratulate and admire you.

Got 160 in 5

WC:1708 T:55 G:5

Summer vacation is here! Take an hour long writing break- you deserve it!

Woooow I’m done!
