lol it’s mostly just, us saying hi. for the most part LOL

ooo i see; well that could be an option once you start a collection of novels LOL

#462

lolol the ultimate hi server :joy:

Yeah, for sure. That’s definitely a possibility for the future.

Anywho, catch you around. :lumi:

#463

@astrophile lumi, anyway for image size to be modified using vw and vh? within the <img> tag?

#464

Can you be a bit more specific?

#465

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

#466

Hello. Do you need any coding assistance?

#467

I think I’m making some progress?

I still have no idea what I’m doing.

#468

Like when you change the size of the image you use <img src=‘...’ width=... /> when the value entered for ‘width’ is in pixel or percentage, there is change in image size displayed. But not with vw.

I read online that you have to use something like sizes=“(min-width:...) ...vw” or something like that but it does not work.

#469

Ah, I see what you mean now. I’m fairly sure vw/vh doesn’t work in the <img> tag. Are you trying to make an image thread mobile responsive? If so, I can show you a super simple way to do so.

#470

Do you know how to code a simple thread for The Cafe!?

#471

I am. It’s actually for this premade thread. Initially I had used a different image to indicate when a cover gets taken. Now I changed it to a text with background which goes over each cover using absolute position, so to make that work I will need the pictures to be displayed in the same order in mobile as it is in desktop. I will eventually have to alter the positioning of the ‘taken’ text too to match in mobile display, but I need the covers to display properly first. They are 9 numbers, in a 3x3 grid.

#472

@MrChashmish That’s vague.

What are you looking for specifically?

@coxkora I’m going to switch over to my laptop real quick so I can give you a proper reply. (Also need to dig up that code I was referring to.)

#473

@coxkora I found it.

#474

So, I had a chance to look over your thread and here’s an idea I had:

Why don’t you try changing how you embed the images?

Instead of using the <img> tag, try turning the images into background-images.

That way, you can easily code another box over the image to say if it’s taken or not.

#475

So the background image is one image, like merge all the covers as one

Or can there be multiple background images? Like each under individual span tags and positioned to form a grid. Is that possible? That would be easy to update. I got to try.

#476

You can use multiple background images. Just gotta be careful with nesting.

Not in the same span, though. You’ll need to use a separate span each time.

#477

Code for one row:

<span style="font-size:; width: 50px; height: 50px; display: inline-block; background-image: url('https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/undertale-rho/images/5/5f/Placeholder.jpg');">&nbsp;</span> <span style="font-size:; width: 50px; height: 50px; display: inline-block; background-image: url('https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/undertale-rho/images/5/5f/Placeholder.jpg');">&nbsp;</span> <span style="font-size:; width: 50px; height: 50px; display: inline-block; background-image: url('https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/undertale-rho/images/5/5f/Placeholder.jpg');">&nbsp;</span>

It won’t let me show all the code but I just repeated the above two more times.

#478

Cool! I’m going to do that.

Also this helps me remove that bbcode I was using to center them. Thanks!

#479

No problem! Let me know if it works. :lumi:

I was thinking for making a chat lounge thread in the cafe for Indian writers. And the opening post of the thread, needs to be coded. But the problem is that I don’t know to code except basic HTML.
