It’s a valid point, I tried to get both sides of it. So they can decide for themselves whether or not to read it. @Waitingforend Rejected. Another historical adventure romance with another witty female MC and some drama.
Haven’t heard of that one!
Also, yeah, I just wanted to present both sides that way - if they do end up reading - they know what some people think of the book and can be prepared for it
I don’t know if you are into fantasy, but I’m writing a historical/fantasy/romance novel with some action in the mix. It has a bit of a creepy fairytale vibe and I’m about 13 chapters in (almost 60,000 words).
Now, it does have an abusive relationship in it, but it is depicted as abuse and not romanticized in any way. The actual romantic subplot involves a healthy relationship between the two characters.
Check it out if you’re interested.
Sylvia, the daughter of a London dressmaker, has always wanted to leave the city for the place where all her mother’s fairytales take place. But after she is sent away to Dartmoor to escape the Blitz, she finds herself trapped in a terrifying fairytale of her own when she is abducted by The Alder King: the ruthless leader of the Wild Hunt. Insisting that her family owes him a great debt, Sylvia is forced into servitude within the castle at the heart of the Underwood. There she must use her skills as a seamstress to navigate this strange world of spirits and, one day, earn back her freedom. But when she meets the King’s beautiful, red-haired gamekeeper, her needlework suddenly begins taking on a life of its own. If the King discovers these new “talents” of hers, will he ever want to let her go?
Also, if you’re interested in an adventure novel, you might want to check out The Journey by @rhymeswithfry It’s about a 12th century girl who has to disguise herself as a boy to go on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. They characters are all really well done and there is a lot of action, especially later on in the story.
My book Death’s Edge is a Adventure-Action type of thing? https://www.wattpad.com/story/159139294-death’s-edge-completed
I also recommend 3S by @xletmebemyselfx, but it only has 5 chapters so if you’re looking for something completed maybe don’t read that until it is.
My new book Daya: Eternal Pursuit has 3 chapters out so far! It’s a dark fantasy, and each chapter is action-packed
Summary: Daya’s family has been cursed for generations. She, like her mother before her, is pursued by an immortal being named Rooker who won’t stop until her entire family line is wiped out. To save herself, she travels across Maloria seeking allies and searching for ways to defeat him. It’s a story of endless pursuit and the will to survive, of gods and magic, and of self discovery, as Daya seeks to uncover her family’s connection to Rooker and her own strength in the face of immense power.

Thank you so much for recommending 3S! You’re so sweet!
Title: Adventures of Prince Vajendra
Meet Prince Vajendra, aka the so-called spiritual Rishi of the continent of Vishaputra, a flat earth. He’s a man not interested in saving the world, but having his own adventures. A man that can talk with Gods, deal with flying airships, throw exploding bombs into the air. He must retrieve the powers that an evil Pharoah, named Nahakasha has taken from him. This story goes into a series of episodic sub-plots more than an overarching story.
Which chapter: 1 for start, see how you like it!
My story has minimal sexual content, but very very minor. Like not even much, there is some cuss words in it - but its nothing major.
This has around 20 chapters and more to come.
I have a book. It’s werewolf and there are mates, but the plot is largely centred on a more action/adventure storyline and the romance isn’t abusive. There’s badassery, humour and darkness, so you can give it a shot if it sounds like your thing.
I’d like to throw my book in the ring if that’s okay. It’s called Baine and this is the premise:
'Someone or something is snatching innocents from our town and leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. Mutilated bodies. We’ve all become desensitized over the years almost to the cruel end of expecting more horror when we wake up each day.
Baine was the only friend at my sixth birthday party and he was my only friend the day he disappeared. Our Sheriff dragged in his hotshot nephew now that the case has gotten out of hand and all eyes have turned to me not as the suspect, but as the missing phrase to an unfathomable riddle. Grief takes a backseat as I watch the new Detective Donn Cross’ ambitions match my own.
‘I see it in their eyes when they pass me by, slowing down just enough to smile pitifully or click their tongues. They didn’t lose their loved one so they have the right to condescend on my loss instead. Despite it all, I won’t give up on bringing Baine home.’’

You can try out my YA historical fiction novel, The Two Foxes.
It’s set during the 17th century and focuses on a 16 year old Sarah Thompson. She realizes that she can see into the future, and already being the outcast in her Puritan town, her life is in danger.
I have two novels listed if you would like to take a look.
THE NARCISSIST is a thriller (This one is currently being read by multiple agents.)
THE PROHIBITED: VIOLET’S JOURNEY is a dystopia/adventure/fantacy (Complete, but still making changes.)
CRIPPLE CREEK (In the theme of Huck Finn and To Kill a Mocking Bird)
I only have one chapter of Cripple Creek as I am currently writing it but would love to see what people think.
Thank you for the offer, even if my books aren’t in your wheelhouse and you choose not to read. Have a great day!
Not sure how you feel about modern fantasy, but I’m writing a YA Contemporary Fantasy novel if you want to try it out. The story link is here: https://www.wattpad.com/story/165654709-air-born
I have a novel that does not feature bad boys or possessive mates.
It’s called The Greatest Obsession for now but it will get a title change to Gentlemen Do Not Bleed. It’s a historical LGBT vampire romance with satirical elements.
The plot consists of a young Victorian-era Englishman named Elijah Marks who becomes the victim of vampire attacks after he moves in with his new fiancee and her father. An effort to capture the vampire fails, and not long after, Elijah makes a deal with the vampire that allows him to drink his blood to keep the peace. As summer fades into fall, feelings between Elijah and Haydn, an eccentric vampire with the looks of American Horror Story’s Cody Fern and the charm of the late David Bowie, develops into something serious…a dangerous thing to do in a time when sodomy meant a lifetime in prison and social isolation by the church not to forget the fact that Elijah is an engaged man.
The novel dives into dark themes such as grief and loss, redemption and sacrifice. Elijah is not a simple plain Jane of a man who can do no wrong, but a deeply troubled indecisive anxiety-ridden man-child who cannot handle the consequences of his actions. Characters hurt each other emotionally and PHYSICALLY. Death is imminent. This is a novel to be treated like a case study. I want you to hate Elijah. I want you to want Irina with a better man and for Haydn to find the peace he so longs for after nearly 2,000 years on earth.
Much more Anne Rice than Stephenie Meyer and I am proud to say so.
Currently 26 chapters and counting.
Title: Dear Bully
Genre: Short Story
Here’s one - it’s a WIP though, updated regularly. It is a werewolf, but not focused on it, not about finding a mate, but about a girl rising above the trials of her past to become the girl she was born to be. Set off the coast of mideival Ireland. It’s called the Isle of Ferrick: https://www.wattpad.com/user/BetterwithCoffee
I am currently writing this werewolf story and I can assure you that it’s not just about finding mates. It has fantasy and action in it. All mythical creatures that I can think of is included here but focuses on one particular race, and I’m guessing you know what it is
Title: Queen (A Werewolf Story)
Genre: um… ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Chapters: 2 chapters that’s cut up in 6 parts
She wasn’t supposed to be human, but she was.
They weren’t supposed to do that but they did.
It wasn’t supposed to happen like this but it did.
(Are you sure?)
Jillian Mortier was human… or she thought. Before her older brother Kane’s Alpha Trial, she was fine. She trained hard and kept to her family and friends. But after the trial, she started having weird dreams and an odd sense that her life is about to change. The need to protect her family was overwhelming and the desperation to prepare for an attack increased. Jillian had an image, a certain expectation of how her life will go. But as life continues, it wasn’t what Jillian expected… and nothing could’ve prepared her for this.
I’d like to humbly offer my story as a choice.
Everyone has their place in the world. Fate is inescapable so it does little good to fight it.
Lena Rivers has been told this her entire life. She’s a farmer’s daughter. One day she will marry, have children, and be a farmer too. That’s the way things work. Lena absolutely hated the idea of being a farmer or the wife of one. There had to be more to life than what everyone told her. However, that seemed to be the life she was destined for.
Until the traces of a large beast, larger than anyone in her town had ever seen, were discovered on the outskirts of the forest. The mayor of her small town hires Aust, an elfin King’s Ranger to root out and destroy the beast. When Lena meets him she finds herself absolutely taken at the sight of his longbow and massive stag and falls in love with the prospect of becoming a ranger. However, if she wants to be of any use to find the monster that’s terrorizing her home then she has a lot to learn.
Thank you all for the suggestions! I have started to browse through them, but I probably won’t get a chance to really read until Wednesday–when the semester is over.
I’ve got a romance book with a lit of comedic elements. Both a good hearted characters with awesome side character’s.
Life, Love And A Little Coffee.
