Resource Centre

Welcome to the Resource Centre . This thread has been created for designers to share links to resources they find useful. Any resource is welcome, from free design apps to free online editing suites, free image sites to colour palettes, html color codes to free font sites.

Please use the format below for ease of identification:

Type of resource

Short description of what it can be used for.

Posts that do not involve sharing resources will be removed to maintain the thread.

1. Do not promote your service here.

2. No chatting. It clutters the thread and makes it difficult to find useful resource comments.

3. Post as many resources as you feel able to contribute. There is NO restriction on how many posts you make.

Photo Editing and Graphic Design Website

PicMonkey is my all time favorite tool for creating book covers and banners and ads. I have a yearly subscription but you can still do a lot without paying for anything. They’ve upgraded a lot of their tools over the years and added some helpful tricks. They also allow you to store images on their site in what they call your Hub, but that may only be for those with a subscription. Either way, PicMonkey is super helpful for those looking for a free or more affordable editor.

Fonts that are Free for Commercial Use

A collection of high quality fonts that can be used legally on designs, both on Wattpad and Commercially. Some fonts are fandom inspired, such as Spiderman, Transformers, and some mimic high-quality, professional fonts such as Trajan Pro (otherwise retailing at a high cost).

An outstanding collection for Photoshop that allows designers to quickly create fantastic scenes that look straight out of a storybook.

The pack contains overlays, textures, several brushes, and over a dozen unique actions including fog, colour prep, and colour filters that are all editable and do not automatically flatten.

Royalty free photos for your designs:

I put up a free photo now and then for any purpose, commercial or personal. I think for wattpad the favorite may be “our moon” if you have werewolves. I’m also happy to take requests.

So I’ve created a list of commercial free image sites and put them all on a google doc that anyone can view and comment on. I’d paste them all but there’s over 50 of them and honestly that would be a really long post. If you know of any others and think I should add them to the list, feel free to shoot me a message!

Also, I didn’t put on here but it’s a great site too, as long as you pay attention to the rules of each user.

list of fonts that other designers recommend and use right here!
feel free to add more!

We are not allowed to share links for premium resources, however AppSumo has a massive deal on Depositphotos bundles running for 3 more days. 100 images for under $50, you can refund within 30 days if you don’t find what you’re looking for and you can stack codes as many times as you need.
