“You know, I’ve never liked brown eyes,” he murmured, absently rubbing a small circle on my chin with his thumb.

I deadpanned him, grateful for the partial restoration of controlled reactions on my part due to the insult. “Gee, thanks.”

His eyes twinkled with amusement. “Let me finish, Lil,” he said, his lips curling up a bit. “I’ve never liked them, and now I know why.”

"I feel like you’re about to say something super cheesy, " I interrupted again.

He chuckled and shook his head. “No…well, yeah, actually,” he said after a thoughtful pause, during which he tipped his head back to narrow his eyes at the ceiling and furrow his brows a bit, his lips pushing forward into a tiny pout-- fucking hell, was it adorable.

“So, why don’t you like brown eyes?” I breathed, needing a change of thought.

“I’ve never seen your shade of brown up close before,” he answered. “And now that I’ve seen it, I understand why I don’t like brown eyes.”

He paused then, leaned in a bit closer – and we were hella close already, so I swallowed out of nervousness and my eyes widened slightly – and then he spoke.

“Your eyes remind me of shit,” he said softly.

All I could do was stare as his voice rolled over me like the most gentle of waves–

“Ah, ah, ah,” he began, his voice still soft, wagging his finger once with each “ah,” a malicious gleam in his eyes. “You didn’t really think I was finished, did you?”

“For fuck’s sake, Lancaster.” My voice was a growl, slightly trembling due to my still present nausea, and my fear level rising.

That and the ridiculous shivers from his proximity.

I shoved the last thought to the back of my mind, bringing my hands up to push him away. “Get off of me. I’m going home.”

He smiled, grabbed both my wrists with one hand and pinned them above my head, leaning down to me as he walked his fore and middle finger up my stomach. "Oh, come on, Lil. It’s been three years, but I haven’t changed. You know me. I can’t let you leave without a bit of fun."

Updates Mondays and Thursdays!

Dakota was never interested in dating. She had always thought that it was a waste of time and money. She didn’t need a guy to be happy and she definitely didn’t have the energy to deal with the drama. That changes when she starts to realize that everyone around her is happily with someone, so she comes up with a plan. Ten dates in two months and see what happens, and who best to help her than her football extraordinaire best friend? How hard can dating be?

When I came out of the bathroom Trevor was cracking up. I gave him a puzzled look, but otherwise ignored him. I walked to the table and the moment Josh saw me he stood up from the chair and got down on one knee.

I was going to kill Trevor. That was the first think that came to my mind. He could have prevented this! That little sucker.

“Dakota Mitchells.” How does he know my last name? “I know we haven’t known each other for a long time, but I’ve known you for over a year. You bring light to my life whenever I see you.”

That is sort of sweet. No! Dakota, what is wrong with you? This is not sweet! His is psycho.

“You have issues with food but that’s okay.” He cleared his thoat. “I present to you a promise ring.”

Just after he said that, loud laughter filled the cozy restaurant. I threw Trevor a save-me look, but he was too busy laughing at my expense.

Give it a shot!
