Whisper In The Wind

The Crumbling Tower

Even an ordinary lady has a past, though other characters may be persuaded otherwise.
Miss Elletra Wilton has gained an increasingly strange hanger-on.

This is a 30,000+ word novella set in late Victorian London, with elements of the paranormal and an LGBTQ romance.
The Crumbling Tower is already fully written and will be updated weekly. You can find it at

Chance “Gunner” Milharn, a young monster hunter from Iowa, is in the wrong place at exactly the right time. One cold night in 1944, at the border of France and Germany, the tracks of a werewolf circling his camp lure him from his post.

That dereliction of duty saves his life and the life of a small boy.

Joseph “Herr Schwarz” Ames, a roguish ranger, is in the right place at the right time, though he doesn’t know it. He happens upon a very old friend who asks him to help search for a lost boy. He wishes he’d said no. When he stumbles upon a massacred squadron of German soldiers, it becomes clear the child is not simply lost.

The hunt to find a child in deathly peril leads Joseph to an unexpected ally.

William Gotmaschine, a necromancer of great power and questionable goals, is in the right place, but the wrong time. A number of obstacles stand between him and what he has come for, including a missing boy. As luck would have it though, he runs into a friend who can help him with his child problem.

The quest to secure a relic will determine so much more than his fate.

The True Covenant- The Summer of 1989

Erin craves the life of her peers. She wants friends. She wants a place to call her home. She wants to be a normal teenage girl with hobbies and maybe even a boyfriend. Her parents have made that all but impossible though.

Her parents keep her on the move, running from something otherworldly. Between the guns and the magic, Erin knows there is no way it could be something normal like a cartel or the Feds. One summer evening, she finally gets a clue about what and who they are hiding from.

Three men arrive unannounced at their home in Indiana, bringing tidings of death and danger. Erin is thrown into the magical and monstrous chaos of the life her parents left behind to protect her. Will she find a way to adapt to this new world? Or will her growing power consume her heart, body, and soul?

I’m not actually a fully developed woman. I suppose, depending on you definition, I’m not actually human. The word some of us use to describe it is “Changed,” or “The Changed.” I was Changed into what I am. What I am is a bit difficult to define. Before I was Changed I was a girl, almost a woman.

I eat food, drink water, need warmth, and protection from the elements. “If you prick us, do we not bleed,” sorry couldn’t resist. And yes we bleed. There’s very little difference between me and any other person really. I heal quickly, seem to have more energy, require less sleep. I’m smarter than most. I know more. Well, I’ve consumed the lives knowledge of countless men. I read minds. My brain must be somehow enhanced: how else can it hold all that knowledge? I don’t age. In exchange for this, I feed off the energy of others. I can’t Change someone: make them like myself. Not intentionally anyway. And yes, over the years, I have tried. I don’t kill people, usually: though as you might have noticed - I can. I am not immortal - I can and one day will die.

A moment passed and then a muted, hollow thumping grew in the darkness. Then he was spinning and the thumping was in his head, then nausea, then rage and, “No! No! No!!!”

“James Benjamin, you need to calm down or you’ll get a spanking!”

He opened his eyes. Below him, spaghettios lay splattered over checkered linoleum. Above, his mother towered.

“That’s it, darling. That’s it.”

His chest heaved. His head throbbed.

“James?” His mother bent down to his level. She was beautiful – the damage from cigarettes and being his mother yet to come. “Is something wrong, darling?”

He dropped his head and shifted his weight from one foot to the other. It was always jarring to lose so much muscle so quickly. He closed his hands into fists then reopened them, flexing his chubby fingers. He took a deep breath then exhaled. “I sorry Mommy. I sorry I mad.”

“Oh darling, it’s okay. Come here.” She picked him up. He laid his head on her shoulder and readied himself for the fifteen years until he could see Martha again.'t-believe-in-love-songs

The Spirit Veil

Ever since she was born, Aurora Diaz has had a gift. That gift is the ability to see spirits. She’s gone through life with this as a normal thing, her cousin, Arthur Diaz, by her side with the same ability. Together, and with their spirit friend, Lydia, they guard the Spirit Veil - the barrier sperating the worlds of the living and the dead.

One day, the three come across an ancient scroll linking to Lydia’s life before she died. The scroll comes with a warning: there is a date where the Veil can be broken every ten thousand years. This date, they find, is within the next two weeks! Much faster than any of them would have guessed.

When another version of the scroll is found on a dig, it is soon stolen by a spiritualist eager to prove that there is life after death. Aurora, Arthur, and Lydia set out to stop them before the greatest secret is unleashed upon the world of the living.

Milo was ordinary. Until an extraordinary war threatened his home and everyone he holds dear. Now he must find it within himself to fight for a world he barely knows to save everyone he has ever loved, or die trying.
My heart panged at the thought of being alone.
Owen got up to leave, my body now thoroughly warmed and safe under the mounds of blankets. I reached for his arm, holding him there for a second, begging him with my eyes.

“Please don’t leave me alone,” I mumbled into the pillows, my words muffled by the fabric, and slowly, as if I would shatter into a million pieces if he moved too harshly, Owen crawled in beside me, holding me in his arms.

“Ok.” He murmured into my hair. “Ok.” He repeated, and I drifted off. For the first time in a long time, I felt safe.

“What do you want?” Silas asked in a low voice. His blue eyes raked over my frame causing me to lose my breath momentarily.

“You,” I breathed, my eyes darting between the two men in front of me. “I want both of you.”

Aries smirked, a smug look on his face. “And who are we to stop you?”

When Hailey gives her number to a hot guy at a college Halloween party, she expects to get a date out of it. Not a haunting.

Finley Judd died last Halloween, and no one knows why - including him. But now that he’s trapped in Hailey’s phone, he’s not leaving until she helps him solve the mystery behind his own death. And he won’t stop text-flirting with her, which is super distracting…

A goofy, ghosty rom-com with a zesty 2009 flavor. Now complete!

First they survived a serial killer in their own barracks. Then they went to the wall against a pre-conflict strike of Soviet Union soldiers attacking them in their own barracks, leaving behind half of their number dead and the survivors of the brutal close quarters combat shell shocked and physically wounded.

Accompanying the members of the Alphabet Agencies is the aide of a member of the House Military Affairs Commission and members of the Secret Service.

All of them want to know what happened over the course of that bloody winter.

Unfortunately for them, the blood spilled on the mountain in the name of madness and hatred has woken it from its ancient slumber.

And it wants more.

In 1970, the mysterious cult’s mass kidnapping and ritualistic killing led to the summoning of the Shade—a paranormal entity of living shadow. Ever since then, starting in October in the city of Bastillio, the Shade would be seen haunting twelve teenagers at night throughout the month, often resulting in their deaths.

But the discovery of U.V. lights as a deterrent from the Shade led the government to establish a system to contain the Shade’s threat.

Fast forward to 2020, twenty years after the system had successfully prevented any more deaths, the media and global firestorm surrounding the phenomenon died down. So when sixteen-year-old Vergil Torres was identified as one of the twelve and was immediately brought to Biringan—the government shelter where haunteds like him would stay for the month—he was more excited than scared for his life.

But the gruesome and inexplicable death of one of them during their stay in the supposedly safe house renews the horror of the Shade. Reluctant at first, Vergil, together with his friends and Major Coleman, decided to get to the bottom of the mystery, if they are to survive through the month.
