What readers commented:

I really liked reading this as it had such a nostalgic feel to it, it just reminded me of stuff that I didn’t even realise that I remembered and just left me feeling so happy when I finished reading it

This makes me smile! I enjoyed the images very much and it’s very much a visual representation of deep water, the way the short lines seem to sink downwards or even like soft lulling waves rocking back and forth against the shore. Beautiful!

This one was definatly different than other poetry I have read. I loved all the colors you added! Different colors definately interact with different emotions. In this one you used bright colors and it was also about love. I think that colors played nicely into the story and made the image come more alive. You also created great Imagery with other descriptons that were used. great job! I also loved the flow of it

My heart goes out to you. This poem is so beautiful, yet so melancholy, I could literally feel my heart break as I read every line and stanza. Great poem! This really elicited emotion from me.

What readers commented:

I love your perception of things, it was a joyous read to the end.

Okay, this one. . . I have no words. It got to a place in me where light hardly sees. Amazing.

Gosh I wish I could eat that right now! You’ve done a great job capturing the essence of summer in this poem.

i kept on “aww”-ing but when I read this i chuckled hahah

The Everlasting Encounter

by @DiaConstant

What if what seemed like a chance encounter was meant to be something truly unforgettable? Are you ready to feel that? Can you cope with something of genuine intensity?

Beginning: “It was warm and it was busy, enough to transform and render dizzy. They were bored and gazed on earth, at those ignored those lost at birth.”

❝ mannequin ❞

my mother first hit me when her grandmother was
still around and kicking, a little past 72
these ghostly palm oil trees know nothing of me
and I know nothing about the stone henge my mother
claimed she found in their midst

I forget how stoic I was between all the
blemish and upset episodes, oscillating signals
until they collapse into a single line, my nirvana
I don’t believe in dharma but I know their names
like Guanyin and Amita
I think I’ve drifted off, stumbled by the door left ajar
and thought I should return every so often to my body
while wandering this cosmic house

I’m looking for the stairs
I’m assuming it leads to heaven

their statues have always been serene
stone-faced at the sight of attachment
I want to go back to the glare like chisels
no pulling out of staring, never needing to blink
I felt untouchable then, shooting pinholes like blanks

hold still pretty thing / you know, they admire you
smile at the strangers at the mall carding through clothes
because you’re a little lady, what you say goes (here, at least)
you know which off-shoulder strap dress
accentuates your witty thoughts / and your curves too, I guess
see who’ll carve you into stone / still worth that admiration
even for something so shallow
